Michael grew up in Cleveland, knowing that serving others would be his destiny. Early on, he watched his father provide financial advice that changed people’s lives for the better. In high school, he learned the concept of magis, the philosophy of serving others by always giving more than expected. He spent the first half of his career in sales at Sherwin-Williams, where he learned that busy corporate executives had few options for knowledgeable financial management advice for their complex corporate benefits plans. They needed help – more help than they were then getting.
In 2012, with the strong desire to give back, he founded a wealth management firm specializing in complex corporate plans. For ten years, clients hired him to deliver creative solutions in the areas of income, personal risk management, tax reduction strategies, investment and retirement planning and wealth creation, many of which they had not been previously exposed to. By coordinating and collaborating with their other advisors, including their accountants and attorneys, and acting as the catalyst to get things done, he helped them gain a sense of security and confidence that knowledgeable, common-sense financial planning can provide.
His single focus worked. In 2022, because more than 90 percent of his clients were active or retired corporate executives with these types of plans, he renamed his business MAGIS Wealth Advisors to reflect the kind of service and expertise he was providing.
